playsometoys, a Hong Kong start-up, was founded by designer Philip Lee. He has a soft spot for product designs from the 80’s and the 90’s. His company motto is ‘to create something we want to collect ourselves!’.
This adorable designer toy is based on the most colourful piece in computer history and it fits in the palm of your hand. The iBot G3 comes complete with a keyboard and the infamous round mouse, it is moulded in translucent plastic, with details from colours to curves faithfully recreated. Interior units, including the CRT tube, ethernet connection ports, can be glimpsed through the translucent surface. Like the Classicbot Classic, the iBot G3’s arms are detachable and held by magnets, allowing for easy transformation to its pure computer form.
